Who does not like manicures? Every woman loves beautiful pampered hands. But this requires a lot of money and time if you go to salons. Therefore, doing them at home is an affordable solution. However, the majority of you will relate doing press-on nails at home results in popping out all over the place. This was the same case with me when I started wearing press-on nails but over the time, I did figure outs ways to make them stay longer. Once you get the idea what to do it will hardly take you thirty minutes to apply these. So let’s get started with the steps required to apply them.
Dehydrate Your Nails:
If you are planning to wear your nails for a couple of weeks dehydrate them before applying your press on nails. Remove all the greasy oil pigments or lotion with the help of nail enamel remover this will avoid press on nails from losing its strength. Also, keep your hands dehydrate for almost an hour or two after applying nails for best results.
Preparing Your Nails:
Before applying press-on nails trim your nails first and push down your cuticles. Removing cuticle clears your nail bed and the press-on nail sets best. Now grab a nail filer or a buffer and buff your nail bed, this will provide texture to it helping in removing any excess oil and provides grip to your press-on nails. For this reason, try to use a nail file with 100 or 100+ grit count, Because the higher the number of grit count the best it works.
Selecting Your Press-On Nails:
To make your press on nails stay longer, try to pick ones with medium length. Try to find the thin nail that matches your natural nail shape and size. There are pre-shaped press-on nails available at stores. When using them, before applying look for the ones that set perfectly on your nails. Tip: The smaller the number of nails, the bigger its size.
Start Applying:
Once you are done with above steps now start applying nails. I prefer applying nail glue on my nail bed that avoids spilling off the glue on the outer corner of the nails. Remember always use a new bottle of nail glue and apply a good amount of glue to the back of your nails do not over go neither stingy. Apply fake nails by pushing it as close to your cuticles as possible. Put pressure on each nail for at least 30 seconds to let the glue dry and let your fake nail set in place. Once you are done take a filer again and file the tips of the nails to give it as finish look as usually there is a tab at nail tips. Apply top coat for a natural look or apply a nail paint of your choice to give the final touch.
Give these tips try and have a happy manicure day!
